FRANCE BANS SKINNY MODELS

France is revving up a bill set to be passed this week to ban skinny models, they gave new requirement for modelling in the city. The bill is set to ban models who are below 121 lbs as models are been targeted to promote healthy body images in fashion.

 

Reports revealed modeling agencies or label that hire girls below the required body weight would be fined up to $79,000 or could face up to six month in jail. This would apply to both the cat walk and advertising campaigns.

 

To enforce the bill, there would be regular weight checks, girls would present a medical certificate showong a BMI of atleast 18 , 5'9 height and  121 lbs weight before being hired for a job
