By now we thought the Boko Haram would have sieze fire at'east with the effort federal government has put in place but instead they decided to show themselves on the day of swearing in. Gosh!
No
less than 11 people have been killed after Boko Haram attacked the
outskirts of Maiduguri in Borno State on Saturday morning, Reuters reports.
The attack comes barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari‘s inauguration. You will recall that while speaking at the inauguration, Buhari promised to crush Boko Haram, and mentioned that one strategy to be employed to accomplish this goal is the movement of the command center for military operations away from Abuja to Maiduguri
Gunshots
from high-caliber weapons were reportedly heard between about 1 a.m and
2:20 a.m around Damboa road near Mule, a small settlement about 10 km
(6 miles) from Maiduguri.
A military source said, “a
rocket launcher from Boko Haram hit a house around the Bulumkutu
area…and killed five people. Our boys also picked up six corpses in
different locations.”
