Ex beauty Queen Nike Oshinowo, shows her Surrogate -Twins in Hello Nigeria

Many will be wondering why the ageless beauty queen had been off sight for a long time now, and others wonder why she wont get married, thars for those who did not know she has divorced her husband whom she married when she was 40.

In October 2013, It was firstly reported that ex-Miss Nigeria Nike Oshinowo
welcomed twins – a boy and a girl, via a
gestational surrogate in the United States of America. The 47 year old beauty queen turned entrepreneur welcomed her twins via a gestational surrogate in the United States of America. For those who are  not familiar with gestational carriers, the twins are biologically Nike’s children, though they were birthed by an another woman.

There is no confirmation on the identity of the twins’ father as Nike and her husband Dr. Tunde Soleye ended their marriage months ago. Nike has been open about her long-term battle with endometriosis – the gynaecological condition which can cause severe pain and infertility.

“I’m not supposed to be able to have children. I have endometriosis. I didn’t decide it was time, God decided it was time.”.. She told  Hello Nigeria in an Interview conducted by Latasha Nwugbe

When asked on why she was getting a child at 48, she said:
"... I was out of my marriage, and I was lying in bed, talking to my God “Okay, so, here I am, is this what you want for me? Please tell me the next step. What am I supposed to do now?” and I fell asleep. As I slept, I felt a tug on the bedding and I open my eyes… I’m saying you have a choice to choose. I chose to have my children look like the rest of my family. I chose to have my children look like my
cousins, the children of my sister, the children of my brother – all the same colour. I did what I needed to do to make that happen. My children bear Oshinowo. It’s a very good surname to have!”

International celebrities including Giuliana & Bill Rancic, Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban, Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick have all welcomed children via Gestational carriers.

Congrats to the new mum!
