graduate commits suicide after fiancee left her

A woman from Delta State on Monday committed suicide after her fiance left her for another woman, whom he married in Lagos.

The woman, *Jane, is said to have introduced her fiance, *John, to her parents three years ago, Leadership reports.

Police public relations officer in the Delta, Celestina Kalu, confirmed the incident.

Kalu stated that Jane, who was a graduate of Economics from University of Benin, had been waiting for John for three years.

Family members told newsmen that Jane had often complained sorrowfully about waiting in vain only to discover that John got married to someone else.

After one such occasion when she had complained, Jane was found dead in her bedroom the next day. “Particles of drugs” were said to have been found in her possession. Her corpse has been sent for an  autopsy.

According to reports, John, a Lagos based businessman, “was relieved of his job in Lagos after he had carried out introduction of the girl before her parents and returned to Lagos where he had stayed all this while before allegedly taking another girl for a wife.”
