Once upon a time there was Marriage

In ardent, I hope I am not the only one feeling that this thing called marriage it's about to disappear into the thin air.

Once upon a time,  when marriage use to be a threshold of joy in a grown adults?
An expectation for the youngsters?
And most likely a parameter to measure success?

Things are seemingly on the twist side.
May be real. Phew!

Once upon a time weddings cost nothing but levity of ceremony and marriages cost everything especially puzzles of deciding if you wanna do it or change plans, knowing that the game is forever.

Oh yeah!  twisted today,  who cares about marriage? When we should bother on how to paint the sky in colours.
How dare we give a head to what we should get when the game has Changed to: ' walk away when you feel done'

The concern it's on how the wedding day will break the guiness book of record and of course mold the same back when we are out. Funny?

Once upon a time when marriages are not rushed in, when courtship are not a life time process to torment emotions and leave lives dilapidated.
Yet in that little time chances are created to study and be studied and decide if 'it' can be done. Of course knowing that some flaws are manageable and others unchangeable.
For certainly there is no perfect human.

What do we see now,  relationships, oh! forgive me,  ''dating''.
Oh yeah!  It is indeed actually dating because the essence almost poises it to "hit and run''.
Sometimes it lingers till it wingers.
Yet more time it presents situations to endure and hope for a miracle called change. How?

Once upon a time marriages where citadel to nurture godly behaviors,  build children to tolerance and learn lessons to give people patience.

Now marriages is a gateway to walk away from mistakes than correct it, shun patience and give zero tolerance to short comings.

Since the essence of marriage it's now forfeited, what then is it for?

Once upon a time marriages where private and safe, bickering and fallouts where hidden from the rest of the world including children.

Now the best part of dealing with our troubles is on the media.
And giving spouses what they asked for.

In fact children tell better,  what a free world indeed!

Oh!  Have we mentioned that having children out of wedlock use to make the victim return back to normalcy and try as much as possible not to raise the illegitimate child as illegitimate.

Now to be celebrated speedily, do get a child out of the wedlock. What do you need the spouse for?

That's even fair, marriages now would go as far as breaking up fast to separate the kids and share equally, who gets who.
Now children are part of the will.

Once upon a time, I have always been a journalist not a marriage counselor yet,  I'm bothered of what the future will hold for us all.
The kids groomed out of these homes will not know what it means to tolerate,
What it means to forgive and let down pride.

Oh!  Will you be teaching them?
Isn't it easier to learn through what we see than we hear?

Can we help marriages work once more?
